WHO'S MAMA AND WHERE DID SHE COME FROM?
- Mama Mellace is a real person and lives in Rome, NY.
- She came to America in 1962. She has 7 kids and many, many grandchildren.
- Mama cares for all that are in need and would cook and care for everyone if she could.
- Mama Cares Foundation is a non-profit, founded and based on Christian values and principles.
- Mama Cares is housed and supported by Mama Mellace's Old World Treats

WHY START MAMA CARES?
- Unfortunately, many non-profits have a reputation for misuse of funds.
- Many individuals and businesses want to help the needy, but don't know how.
- Mama Mellace's wanted a way to reach out and wanted to help others who wanted to reach out.
- Even though we are a Christian based organization, we are not viewed as being a religious organization. This allows us to assist those in need without making them feel as though they need to adopt a particular Church's beliefs.

HOW IS MAMA DIFFERENT?
- We identify those in need, looking for a hand up and not a hand out.
- We get resources directly to those in need with little overhead and administrative costs.
- We interface with a variety of businesses and agencies, both religious and non-religious.
- We are basically the "eBay of peoples' needs"
- We provide feedback to those that contributed, directly from those who received.

WHAT HAS MAMA DONE ALREADY?
- Provided food baskets to needy families
- Provided Easter baskets to needy kids
- Assisted with distribution of food in a variety of ways
- Donated various food items to organizations in need
- Assisted various individuals with specific needs (clothing and food needs in particular)

WANT TO HELP, BUT DON'T KNOW HOW?
MAMA HAS SOME IDEAS.
- Do you know someone in need right now?
- Do you know any families or organizations in need?
- Do you know any churches, businesses or organizations for us to partner with that share our mission?
- We are always looking for "angels" who can assist us with needs as they arise.
(Usually our needs come in suddenly and a quick response is needed.)
- Always looking for individuals, families or organizations that are looking for a hand up and not a hand out.
- We can act as an outreach for churches that may be too small to have their own outreach.
We are also always looking for the following:
- Clothing, blankets, towels, etc.
- Can never have too much food or health and beauty aids.
- Additional hands are always appreciated for projects that we are working on or with organizations that are in need of help.
- Financial contributions and assistance (monthly commitments are great to help in forecasting our ability to help others)
